What's Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X?
It is an action RPG game, released in August 2010 for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) system. It comprises two games from the "Tales" series, a series of action RPG games published by Bandai Namco. Both Tales of Phantasia, the first entry of the series, and Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X, a remake of the sequel, can be found on the UMD. Sadly this game has yet to see a stateside release and given the current situation with the series it's highly unlikely we will see a release. Since it'll probably stay in Japan I decided to make an english script for the game so that even people with no knowledge of japanese can play this game and enjoy it fully.
What is new in this iteration of Tales of Phantasia?
Tales of Phantasia X, which is the name of this version, is basically a port of the PlayStation version that was released in 1997 with several added features. Some of these elements are from older versions of Phantasia while others are completely new.
It retains the fully voiced script, the upgraded enemy sprites and the GRADE shop (an in-game shop to buy extras once you finish the game so as to inherit several stuff on a new playthrough) from the Full Voice Edition and it made a big enhacement towards the battle engine, while also adding Londrine as a playable character to tie-in the storyline between Phantasia and Narikiri Dungeon. The battle engine is now fully active completely eliminating the freezing that occured while casting spells. Also you now can use the "Manual" control set-up from the start, which means far better control of your character as well as running by default, instead of walking, basic attack combos for every playable character, improved AI, backstep and frontstep actions and new Mystic Artes for Cress and Londrine.
While this game is as important as Narikiri Dungeon X I currently have no plans to do a script translation due to the game being already localized and due to the existing PlayStation version having a fully working english translation patch. I only plan to translate the scenes exclusive to this iteration of Tales of Phantasia

What is Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon? And what does this remake add to the original game?
Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon is an RPG released for the Game Boy Color. It´s a direct sequel from Tales of Phantasia, continuing and expanding the story of Aselia (our heros' world) and Derris Kharlan (the world of Dhaos, the original villain from Tales of Phantasia).
This remake for the PlayStation Portable has revamped graphics, with high-quality sprites and 3D backgrounds, remixed music tracks from both Narikiri Dungeon and the original Phantasia, a completely new script, complete with a revised plot, and a fully voiced main scenario including fully voiced skits. Likewise the remake's battle system is entirely revamped, based off Destiny R (and Director's Cut) and Hearts' Aerial Linear Motion Battle Systems bringing an exciting mix of aerial combos and traditional combat.
